Ngoh Ngoh discredits Manaouda Malachi
Senior officials retired by the Minister of Public Health have been rehabilitated by decision of the President of the Republic. The most recent is Martin Nomo, contractual executive.
A decision by the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh has just ordered the Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie to reinstate in their respective functions Martin Nomo, Contractual Administrative Officer and Dr Etoundi Mballa Georges Alain, Director of the fight against Epidemics and Pandemics.Martin Nomo, head of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Health, had been relieved of his duties for breach of ethics and administrative deontology as part of the Mercy-Ships project and the response against cholera. In 2017, the hospital ship of the NGO Mercy Ships docked at the port of Douala, as part of the fight against cholera and several pathologies in Cameroon. At the end of this operation Nomo Martin, Head of the Budget Service at the Ministry of Health was suspected of financial embezzlement in the management of funds allocated to support the humanitarian mission Mercyships. The report of the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, on the management of the funds placed at the disposal of Martin Nomo, exonerated him. On August 4, 2021, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, the Minister of State, Secretary General to the Presidency of the Republic seized Séraphin Magloire Fouda, Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s services to order the restoration of the person concerned in his rights, his management having been recognized as compliant with the regulations.
« I have the honor to ask you to kindly ensure, in conjunction with the ministers responsible for health, the civil service and finance, the restoration of the person concerned in his rights, his management having been recognized in accordance with regulation by the Minister of Finance ”, we read in the letter”. In liaison, he says, with the ministers responsible for health, the civil service and finance.
It is important to remember that the NGO Mercy Ships carried out two humanitarian actions in favor of Cameroon. First a ten-month humanitarian mission in Cameroon starting in August 2017 with his hospital ship, and had carried out several surgical operations. Mission which will have been beneficial for the populations and the health personnel. Last May, the NGO sent the country a large donation of medical equipment in partnership with the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Foundation. Comprised in particular of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the benefit of health personnel engaged in the fight against Covid-19. That is a total of 74,300 coins worth 57,680,980 FCFA.
The Etoundi Mballa case Driven into retirement by the Minister of Public Health on July 16, 2021, Dr Etoundi Mballa, director of the fight against Epidemics and Pandemics was reinstated by a decree signed on August 25, 2021 « it is granted to Mr. Etoundi Mballa Georges Alain, Lecturer, a two-year extension of activity, for the period from July 22, 2020 to July 22, 2021 ”, writes the Head of State.
