Local development: Unions of syndicates at the school of decentralization

Allowing the confederations to benefit from inter-communality is the aim of the workshop led by the CEO of Feicom in Yaoundé.

The Special Fund for Equipment and Inter-Municipal Intervention (Feicom) organized from July 28 to 30, 2021, a capacity building workshop for unions of decentralized territorial communities (CTD) of the district of Kribi in the department of Ocean on the theme: Intercommunality in Kribi.  A seminar which saw the participation of around forty participants, members of trade unions, sector managers, Feicom executives as well as development partners.

This activity falls within the framework of the implementation of the orientations given in the National Development Strategy 2030. Strategy in which the government encourages the decentralized territorial collectivities to make the most of the inter-municipal, decentralized cooperation, as well as the various forms of partnerships offered by the field of local development.

This workshop also aimed at building the capacities of the CTDs with a view to setting up inter-municipal and functional structures that meet the needs of the populations.  It was also an opportunity for Feicom, during this meeting, to promote one of the financing tools for the organization of solidarity counters and the external action of municipalities, which establishes Feicom’s offer in terms of ‘inter-municipal.
