TITLE TRANSACTIONS : La Regional and Bange pockets nearly 60 million FCFA

It is in a single session of securities transactions that financial institutions have been able to bag close to 60 million FCFA. This despite the fact that the market capitalization has experienced a slight increase and went from 459.704 billion FCFA to 459.710 billion FCFA.

The trading session opened on August 23, 2023 closed with transactions recorded on the share compartment of the Central African Securities Exchange (Bvmac). First, 97 shares were exchanged at a unit price of 42,500 FCFA for the Regionale Bank, a stable price compared to its closing level on August 21, 2023. These securities were exchanged for an envelope of over 4 million FCFA. This price could be maintained or even raised in the coming months if La Regionale Bank remains on good performance on the regional stock market.

Indeed, the rush of investors on this title follows the distribution of 1.5 billion FCFA of dividends to its shareholders for the 2022 financial year. The Cameroonian bank ended the previous year with a net result of 1.2 billion FCFA. Its total Balance sheet also jumped to over 40 billion FCFA against 35.2 billion FCFA in 2021, an increase of 13.3 %. In 2022, the equity of the bank led by Charles Rollin Ombangkath saw a slight increase of 0.89 % to 13.4 billion against 13.3 billion FCFA at the end of 2021. In 2020, the Region’s equity is estimated at 9.4 billion FCFA. For its part, the Net Banking Product has been experiencing a positive performance for 3 years, leaving 4.1 billion in 2020 to increase to 5.2 billion in 2021 to settle at 5.9 billion in 2022.

The second major transaction registered on the stock exchange are the 259 shares of the Equatorial Guinean public bank Bange Bank, purchased for 53.6 million FCFA, at a unit price of 207,010 FCFA. A price that increased by 0.0048 % compared to its closing level of the previous day where it was 206,900 FCFA. Correlatively to the increase in the price of Bange, the market capitalization increases and passes from 459.704 billion FCFA to 459.710 billion FCFA. The influx on this value, we learn, is directly linked to the announcement of the distribution of dividends to the bank’s shareholders for the 2022 financial year. A total envelope of 419.8 million FCFA was distributed to the shareholders of the banking institution, we learned from the final communiqué that sanctioned the Board of Directors of the Bank held on July 29, 2023 in Malabo.

In addition to these operations, several proposals for the purchase and sale of securities remain in the books of the stock exchange companies. Offers to buy : 344 Safacam shares, 248 Socapalm shares and 6 Bange shares ; Offer to sell : 390 Socapalm shares, 174 SEMC shares and 30 La Regionale shares. However, on the bonds compartment, the six Central African countries (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Central Africa Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea) are faced with the illiquidity of securities.
