Regional elections: The president of the electoral council raises awareness in Dschang

In the menu of discussions between Enow Abraham Egbe and the traditional chiefs of the Menoua division, the resumption of regional elections in this department

It was the Dschang district commune deeds room that served as a framework for consultation between the president of the electoral council and representatives of the traditional chiefdoms of the Menoua division.  A consultation which takes place ten days after the publication of decree n ° 2021/001 of January 04, 2021 of the President of the Republic inviting the traditional leaders of the electoral district of Menoua to return to the polls on Sunday April 4, 2021 in the aim to elect their representatives to the Western Regional Council.
The meeting with the president of the electoral council had two main objectives.  First, to assess the pre-electoral climate and the prevailing state of mind in the electoral district of La Menoua between the various actors concerned.  Secondly, to sensitize and build up the college of traditional chiefs of this constituency on the urgent need to properly assimilate the notion of sociological component whose non-compliance led a few days ago to the disqualification of the election in this constituency.
At the center of the concerns, therefore, is the compulsory taking into account of the notion of sociological component when submitting the declarations of candidacies.  It is a question of doing everything to avoid another rejection for the same reason, by the electoral council.  In this perspective, the president of the electoral council marked out the scope of the debates: “This evocative theme sounds like a challenge to the mission, which each of us has the duty to accomplish in the face of the challenges to be taken up, with a view to the organization.  a free and transparent ballot.  This consultation is therefore meant to be friendly.  And through discussions that I hope will be frank and productive, we will reflect together on the crucial issues that could mar the success of the April 4 election …  »
A position shared by the mayor of the municipality of Dschang, Jacquis Gabriel Kemleu: « It is in order to avoid another rejection for the same reason, that the president of the Electoral Council has kindly organized this working session » A Following the work, which took place in the presence of the Prefect of La Menoua, the points of view of the traditional authorities of La Menoua seemed to converge towards this objective.  In two months and a few days, these traditional leaders will have to respect the notion of sociological components when filing nomination papers in order to avoid another disqualification.
