ASCA ASSET MANAGEMENT : Georges James Ndzutue Fotso, New Chief Executive Officer

[abelainfo.com] - After more than a decade of experience in leasing and finance, the seasoned Cameroonian financier has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Asca Asset Management, the Attijariwafa bank franchise responsible for portfolio management in the CEMAC (Central African Economic and Monetary Community) region.

Recognized for his expertise in the finance industry, Georges James Ndzutue Fotso is making his entry into asset management. On May 9, 2024, the Central African Financial Market Supervisory Commission (COSUMAF) granted him the approval to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of ASCA Asset Management, the Attijariwafa bank group’s franchise specialized in portfolio management in the CEMAC region.

With more than 20 years of experience in auditing, management control, accounting, and financial management, including over 15 years in managerial positions, Georges James Ndzutue Fotso arrives with a solid background to take on this new challenge. Holding degrees from HEC Paris and the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC), he is well-versed in the intricacies of the regional financial market, having notably carried out three bond issues through public calls for savings since 2018.

He succeeds Eugène Cissé Kouoh, who left his position in October 2023 to embark on a new entrepreneurial venture with the brokerage firm Fedhen Capital. According to COSUMAF, the new Chief Executive Officer of Asca Asset Management « is required to ensure, in all circumstances, that the regulations of the regional financial market are respected by himself, the directors, shareholders, and managers, as well as the staff of the UCITS (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) management company Asca Asset Management. »

Leveraging his experience in leasing, particularly at Alios Finance Cameroun, which he led for 6 years, Georges James Ndzutue Fotso is joining a sector that is in full effervescence. With assets under management of 95.5 billion FCFA as of December 31, 2023, representing a 15 % market share, Asca Asset Management positions itself as a key player in asset management in the CEMAC region, behind the leaders Elite Capital (16.13%) and Harvest Asset Management (47.4%).

In a highly competitive market, the new Chief Executive Officer of Asca Asset Management will need to equip himself with powerful tools to gain more market share. His strong financial expertise, in-depth knowledge of the regional market, and proven experience in management make him a major asset to propel Asca Asset Management to the forefront of asset management in the CEMAC region.
