INTERNATIONAL CEMAC INVESTOR WEEK : the 6th edition announced in Douala
The activities of the 6th edition of the international investor week in Central Africa announced from October 03 to 9, 2023 in Douala are based on issues related to the issues of retail investor protection.
Hence the themes : « investor resilience, risks associated with crypto assets and sustainable finance and ‘prevention of scams and precautions against crypto-assets ». Organized by the Central African Market Surveillance Commission (Cosumaf), the international investor week is focused on themes related to ‘investor resilience, risks associated with crypto assets and sustainable finance’ and ‘prevention of scams and precautions against crypto-assets’.
Indeed, with the arrival of new products on the financial market, they are faced with slacking digital channels, accompanied by fraud and scams.
Faced with these pleas, investor education is becoming a crucial issue, as is the adoption of specific regulatory measures and devices that adapt to the digitalization offers and the customer journey of new or first-time investors on the capital market. On the program, B to B meetings between the public (potential investors) and financial intermediaries (banks, insurance companies, investment funds, management companies), financial investment advisors. Webinars, consulting training, open houses are also planned.

The initiative of the Central African Market Surveillance Commission (Cosumaf) participates in the stock market culture as well as the dynamization of the Cemac financial market. This one is plagued by the illiquidity of the securities, because the market conditions (not very dynamic) do not allow to buy and sell the securities quickly. At the end of this collaboration and benchmarking seminar, “the expected result is to have among the critical mass targets, informed and intelligent investors in their various investments in financial market products”, specifies Cosumaf in the presentation note of the event.
