Access to drinking water: 600 million from Feicom for boreholes in Nkoteng
Construction work on these structures was launched on January 28, 2021 by the general manager of the inter-municipal equipment and investment fund (Feicom).
This is a CFAF 600 million project fully funded by FEICOM. It is made up of five boreholes powered by a micro solar power plant. But also a distribution network made up of 60 standpipes, a technical room, and four solar street lights. The ceremony for the laying of the first stone of the construction project of this drinking water supply network, in the municipality of Nkoteng, Central Region, was chaired on January 28, 2021 by the director general of Feicom, Phillipe Camille Akoa in the presence of the prefect of the department of Haute-Sanaga and the mayor of the commune of Nkoteng, Esaïe Hubert Kanga.Ultimately, this project will help improve the supply of drinking water to the populations of this locality. A gesture fully appreciated by the populations who have suffered from a lack of drinking water for years. « At home or in public spaces, water will again run on the walls in the next few months, we can only be proud of this initiative by the town hall », suggests a local resident.
For the mayor, « the laying of the foundation stone today is already a success for this project because this aim is part of one of my campaign promises. Everything will be implemented for its feasibility as soon as possible. Seeing the people of Nkoteng suffering from the lack of such a basic element as the supply of clean water is not to a good tink for the municipal executive council. Until then, it will be a memory for the people of Nkoteng.
